About the Create Space

The Friends of the Library Create Space is located on the main floor at KFPL's Central Branch.

The space is open Monday to Thursday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Using this App

You may reserve equipment in the Create Space.

You will be able to book a four-hour appointment on the equipment of your choice. Up to two bookings within a week will be permitted, including back-to-back bookings. Bookings can be made up to two weeks in advance.

Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied in the space by an adult, and the use of most equipment is restricted to ages 8 and older. Visitors to the space must complete a waiver before being admitted to the space.

Accessing the Create Space

A key card is needed to access the space. Key cards may be borrowed from the main service desk using your library card.

Please note that no food or drink is permitted in the Create Space.

KFPL will make every effort to maintain all of the equipment in the Creative Space, but occasionally items will be unavailable due to required maintenance, repairs or replacement.

You may be accompanied by one member of your immediate family or household. Please note that users of the Create Space must wear a mask throughout their visit and maintain physical distancing with other users.

Resources & Support

The Create Space is an unsupervised space, and library staff are not able to provide assistance or technical support for patrons using the equipment.

For most equipment you must provide your own supplies, but KFPL provides 3D printer filament for a fee on a sliding scale, and our Friends of the Library sell button and magnet pieces, emergency sewing kits and USB drives at the branch. Please see individual equipment pages for more information.
